ATI FIREPRO v8750

ATI FIREPRO v8750

CGChannel has an interesting graphics card review on the FIREPRO v8750 and how it compares to the Quadro FX4800/5800 lineup. Additional information about the card's performance utilizing various 3D applications is also included. Generally, NVIDIA is considered the manufacturer of choice for 3D animators, but does this ATI card close the gap for previs users?

I have the V8650 (previous model) and tried installing it in my HP hw9400 workstation.
The card worked great BUT the ATI/AMD drivers took over my AMD motherboard and the onboard audio could only be recognized by the OS as an AMD audio chipset and became non-functional. After 2 days of trouble shooting I gave up and put the old nvidia 4600 back in and the audio worked perfectly. The performance of the ATI card was great but the drivers seemed to be reaching into every nook and cranny of my machine.

Since you had an AMD motherboard, I'm assuming it was an Athalon machine? I wonder how it would react with an intel chipset motherboard?
