Hello Everyone.

Just wanted to let you know that work has begun on v2.0 of the website. We will be embracing a social networking format for v2. Stay tuned for more details.

Ok. I've been working on the new site for a while now... here are some details on upcoming features.

The site will be based off Wordpress and Buddypress. The feature set will improve over time because we're partnering with a young company that wrote a number of plugins for Ning and helped develop SocialGo.

We'll have member profiles.
Member to member direct contact.
Each member can have their own blogs, picture sets, and video sets.
Groups can be created for companies, special events, projects and so forth. Groups can be public, private or invite only/hidden.
There's a job board.
A society blog.
Groups can have their own forums.
Forums include nested topics, hot links, and url video embedding.
We'll have a web store in place.
Chat rooms. (Video chat is forth coming)
Social calendar
Automatic billing and dues collection.

Since we're building this on WP and Buddypress, the opportunity for enhancement with plugins and widgets is more possible due to the shear number of programmers on these platforms.

I'd like to get a prototype online soon...but I'd still say we're a couple of weeks out. So hang in there.

I'd also like to ask people as to what they'd like to see in an online social community for the Previs Society. Please share your ideas here. We want 2.0 of the site to be your go to resource for all things previs.
